Harvest Season Has Arrived For Parton Bark Siding
It's that time again. Parton Bark Siding is now harvesting for the new season. Our loggers are out in the woods selecting choice poplar trees for our certified bark siding procurement. Once again we are looking for trees that have thick, robust bark, and the bark must be sound with no flake or deterioration. We are again not taking bark from unknown or uncertified sources because we do not want to risk allowing bark that has been peeled using poor or unfriendly environmental practices. Last year we posted concerning trees being "ringed" during this time of year. We stand with the environmental community denouncing this practice which usually is illegal (other people's land being pirated) and always immediately kills the tree. Parton Bark Siding being SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) certified guarantees that no unsound environmental practices are used in our bark siding harvest process.
Procuring bark for bark siding purposes is probably the most difficult part of the bark shingle process. Loggers work hard to peel the trees and to get the green sheets to a loading area. We thank them for all the hard work they do to help bring us and you top quality bark cladding. And because of their good work and our expert bark shingle manufacturing processs, Bark Siding by Parton Lumber remains of the highest standards and utmost quality.
